What is XBT?
XBT is the ticker for Bitcoin BLAKE2b, a fork of Bitcoin that replaced SHA-256 proof of work with BLAKE2b. It shares Bitcoin's transaction history up to the split, so coins that existed before the split exist on both chains.
Is XBT the same as BTCB2?
Yes. Exchanges list the same coin under different tickers: XBT, BTCB2 and, on SafeTrade, BIP110. The chain and the coins are the same.

If you controlled the private keys to bitcoin before the split, those same keys control the same amount of XBT. To move it you need a wallet built for the BLAKE2b chain, such as Shrike. A soft fork makes block rewards mined from block 973,440 to block 979,920 unspendable for about 45 days (6,480 blocks). The window ends at block 979,920, in early November 2026.
