Read this before buying hardware. Profit is calculated at today's difficulty and price. Both move fast on a young chain: network hash rate has jumped more than 30% in a single week, which cuts every miner's share. Payback days assume nothing changes, and it will.
New rewards are locked. A soft fork keeps newly mined XBT locked for about 45 days (6,480 blocks) for blocks 973,440 to 979,920, so early income can't be sold right away.
How it's calculated
- XBT per day = your hash rate ÷ network hash rate × blocks per day × (block subsidy + average fees per block), minus the pool fee.
- Network hash rate, blocks per day, subsidy and fees come from the live chain data on xbt.live. The price is the live headline price unless you change it.
- Break-even $/kWh is the electricity price at which the machine stops making money.
- Prices are a snapshot from vendor listings on the date shown. Check the vendor for the current price. Some links may be referral links; xbt.live may earn a commission at no cost to you.
