Does it mine XBT? BLAKE2b miner compatibility list

XBT miner compatibility list

XBT is mined with BLAKE2b. In practice that means the same ASICs built for Siacoin (BLAKE2b-Sia) mine it on stock firmware, pointed at an XBT pool or your own DATUM Gateway. Bitcoin's SHA-256 machines can't, and most Kadena (Blake2s) machines can't either. Here's what we know, model by model.

Goldshell KD5 Pro (580-chip version)variesReportedOne X account that trades miners says it switches to "blake2b (SC)" from a dropdown after the latest official firmware. Others dispute that source. Nobody has posted XBT hash rate from one yet. Treat as unverified.
Goldshell KD5variesReportedOne community test says it runs BLAKE2b. Unconfirmed.
Goldshell KD5 Pro (9590-chip version)NoSame label, different chips. Reported not to support BLAKE2b.
Goldshell KD Box ProNo0 H/s on BLAKE2b in one community test (firmware 2.2.4).
Other Kadena miners: KD6, KD7, KD Max, KD Lite, KD Box, KD Box II, Bitmain KA3, iBeLink BM-K3UnlikelyBuilt for Blake2s, a different algorithm. No evidence any can mine BLAKE2b.
Any SHA-256 miner (Antminer S19, S21 and others)NoWrong algorithm. XBT has used BLAKE2b since block 961,640.

The Kadena question

Kadena miners use Blake2s, a different hash from XBT's BLAKE2b. The chips are hardwired, so a firmware update can't change the algorithm unless the silicon already supports both. One X account that trades miners claims that Goldshell's KD5 Pro with the 580 chip shows a "blake2b (SC)" option after updating to the latest official firmware, while the KD5 Pro with the 9590 chip doesn't. Nobody has explained how to tell them apart before buying. That source has been disputed by other XBT users. Until someone independent posts real XBT hash rate from one, treat it as unverified, and be wary of anyone selling Kadena boxes as XBT miners.
