Privacy

Short version: no tracking cookies, no ad networks, no accounts, and we never store your IP address.

• Visit counting. We count page views on our own server. Each visitor gets an anonymous ID made from a one-way hash that changes every day, so we can't follow you from one day to the next. IP addresses are not stored. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free.
• Phone widgets. The iPhone and Android widgets only read our public price feed. We count how many widgets are active per day, the same anonymous way. The Android app asks for no permissions beyond internet access.
• XBT Weekly. If you subscribe, we store your email address, the date and which page you signed up on. Nothing else. We use it only to send the newsletter, and we may store it with an email newsletter provider to send it. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To be deleted, email hello [at] xbt.live.
• Contact. If you email us, we keep the message to reply. We don't sell or share it.
• Links to other sites. Exchanges, wallets and other sites we link to have their own privacy policies. Referral links tell the exchange you came from us, nothing more.
• Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver and protect it.
• We never sell data. Not emails, not visits, nothing.

Terms of use

• xbt.live is provided free and "as is". Data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong. We make no warranty of any kind.
• We're not liable for losses from using the site, its data, its widgets or any linked service.
• Don't abuse the site: no scraping faster than the API limits, no attacks, no automated sign-ups.
• Memes and community content are credited to their creators where known. To have something credited or removed, email hello [at] xbt.live.
• We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.

API terms

• Public endpoints (listed here) are free, with no key.
• Poll no faster than once a minute. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic.
• Please credit "xbt.live" with a link when you show our data publicly. The daily reference price is free to use in apps, research and tax tools.
• Endpoints may change. We'll try to keep the existing ones stable.

Disclaimer

Nothing on xbt.live is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. XBT is a young minority fork with thin liquidity and few exchanges. Prices can move 80% in weeks, and exchanges can pause withdrawals or fail. Do your own research, only risk what you can afford to lose, and talk to a professional about taxes.
