What this chart shows

Each band is one mining pool's share of the blocks found that week. If one pool's band grows past a third of the chart, a single operator controls a large share of block production. That is worth watching on any young chain.

Shares come from the coinbase tags pools put in the blocks they find, as identified by the block explorer. Blocks without a known tag count as Unknown. Compare fees, payouts and DATUM support on the pools page. If you mine, pointing hash rate at a smaller pool is the simplest way to keep XBT decentralized.
